The event was attended by Yoo Youngho, CEO of Celltrion Pharm, Cha Ukgyu, President of Korea National University of Education, and Lee Kyungtaek, Director of the Oriental Stork Ecology Research Institute, who agreed to establish a mutual cooperation system reflecting ESG values.
Through this agreement, the two institutions plan to systematically pursue the joint development and operation of an ESG-based cooperation model, collaborate on biodiversity enhancement and environmental conservation through the protection of endangered species, and promote the exchange of human and material resources for sustainable growth.
In particular, Celltrion Pharm and Korea National University of Education will work together to protect the Oriental stork, an endangered species near their facilities, in order to enhance biodiversity. Their initiatives include installing stork nesting towers in the Cheongju area, establishing signboards and information systems, and preparing release facilities. The main outcomes of these activities will be posted on the website of the Oriental Stork Ecology Research Institute. In addition, the scope of cooperation will be expanded to include educational programs and campaigns in the environmental and ecological fields, fostering co-growth with the local community.
Celltrion Pharm has been consistently engaging in ESG activities in connection with the local community. In October, the company joined the 'Business and Biodiversity Platform (BNBP)' initiative, which supports the strengthening of corporate biodiversity response capabilities.
