K-Gourmet Stay-type Tourism Shows Strong Potential
The "K-Gourmet Traditional Liquor Belt Pop-up Train," operated by Andong City (Mayor Kwon Gichang) in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Korean Food Promotion Institute, and KORAIL Tourism Development, successfully concluded with its final run on November 29.
Since its first journey in September, every scheduled and additional run was sold out, demonstrating the potential for traditional liquor-based gourmet tourism to become a new tourism model.

View original imageThis program was designed to provide an in-depth experience of Andong's unique gourmet and cultural resources by combining traditional liquor tastings on the train with six experiential courses centered around local breweries.
Visitors experienced more than just a simple trip; through brewery tours, local food tastings, and tourism-linked programs, they enjoyed stay-type content focused on gourmet experiences.
In particular, not only the one-day "pop-up train" but also the overnight "Andong The Dining" package sold out every session, confirming both the marketability and long-term growth potential of the K-Gourmet Belt.
Lee Woo-hyun, CEO of KORAIL Tourism Development, stated, "The train journey combining traditional liquor and tourism has opened up new horizons for content," adding, "The achievement of early sell-outs is highly significant in revitalizing the local economy."
