Kim Jonghyun, President and CEO of Cheil Worldwide, will receive the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit, a government award, in recognition of his contributions to enhancing the global competitiveness of the advertising and marketing industry and elevating the national brand value.
The award ceremony will take place on December 2 at The Plaza Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, during the 2025 Korea Advertising Awards "Government Commendation Ceremony for Distinguished Advertisers," hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Over the past 34 years, Kim has worked in the advertising and marketing industry, leading strategic overseas expansion and digital transformation. Through these efforts, he has grown Cheil Worldwide into the world’s 11th largest global advertising company.
Notably, he has attracted a wide range of international advertisers across North America, Europe, and other global regions, achieving outstanding results at international advertising festivals such as Cannes Lions. He has also led major Korean companies’ global marketing initiatives and successfully managed large-scale international exhibitions as well as cultural and sports events, thereby contributing to strengthening the nation's competitiveness in the global market.
Kim is recognized as a first-generation leader in the digitalization of Korea’s advertising and marketing sector. Through innovative initiatives that transcended the boundaries of traditional advertising-including digital campaigns, social marketing, and e-commerce-he laid the foundation for expanding the scope of the advertising industry. In the era of artificial intelligence (AI), he has proactively responded by developing and implementing in-house content automation solutions utilizing generative AI technology, thereby improving efficiency across the entire spectrum of advertising planning, production, and execution.
