The World Hydrogen Expo (WHE) Organizing Committee (Co-Chairs: Kim Jaehong, Chairman of the Korea Hydrogen Alliance, and Kang Namhoon, Chairman of the Korea Automobile & Mobility Industry Association) announced on December 1 that it has finalized the core programs for WHE 2025, which is now just three days away.
This year, WHE 2025 has been newly expanded and reorganized into a global event that encompasses the entire hydrogen industry cycle by integrating the existing international hydrogen conference with the H2MEET exhibition. Approximately 100 global speakers, delegations from major governments, international organizations, and hydrogen companies-totaling around 5,000 participants-are expected to attend the conference. The exhibition is projected to attract about 30,000 visitors, making it the largest hydrogen-focused exhibition and conference event to date.
WHE 2025 will serve as a “comprehensive hydrogen platform” where the global hydrogen value chain comes together through an integrated program that covers policy, technology, industry cooperation, and public experiences. International exhibitions and conferences will be held simultaneously, ranging from discussions on global industry cooperation to hands-on events for the general public.
The opening ceremony on December 4 will be attended by around 400 key figures from academia, industry, and research in the domestic and international hydrogen sectors, officially declaring the start of the event and sharing messages of cooperation for the transition to a global hydrogen economy. On the same day, the “H2 Innovation Awards” will be held to recognize and honor outstanding hydrogen companies from Korea and abroad.
The international conference, held on December 4 and 5, will feature three tracks: ▲ Leadership & Market Insights (policy and industry trends from major governments and industries), ▲ Hydrogen Deep Dive (technical and industrial strategies from leading companies and experts), and ▲ Country Day (case studies of the hydrogen industry in three countries).
On December 4, policies and strategies from major importers such as Korea, Japan, and Germany, as well as suppliers like Australia, Canada, and India, will be presented. On the second day, December 5, global in-depth discussions will focus on trends in clean hydrogen investment and strategies for demand creation.
During the two-day Country Day program on December 4 and 5, Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom will share country-specific hydrogen industry case studies and policy directions.
This year’s exhibition will cover all areas of hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization, spanning 22,000 square meters. About 227 companies will participate, including major Korean companies and firms from more than 16 countries, such as the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Among the participating companies, Hyundai Motor Group will have the largest exhibition booth. Other major domestic companies such as AES Tech, Shinsung CNT, Doon Systems, and Talent LNG, as well as H2 Innovation Award winners BTE, AP Green, Vincen, and Energin, will also participate. Global companies including 3M, Linde, Air Liquide, Henkel LOCTITE, and Mitsubishi Chemical Group will join as well.
At the “H2 Business Partnership Fair” on December 4 and 5, 38 buyers from 10 countries invited by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and over 80 Korean hydrogen companies will hold one-on-one meetings and technical and investment briefings.
On December 5, the General Assembly of the Global Hydrogen Industrial Association Alliance (GHIAA) will be held as a closed-door event.
On December 4 and 5, with support from the Korea Tourism Organization, booths will offer traditional cultural experiences such as making Korean letter bracelets and mother-of-pearl keyrings, introducing Korean culture to both domestic and international visitors. On the weekend, the “Hydrogen Talk Concert” will feature popular engineering YouTubers, broadcasters, and academic experts.
At this event, Hyundai Motor Group will showcase its hydrogen technology competitiveness and business execution capabilities across the entire hydrogen value chain, focusing on PEM water electrolysis hydrogen production, hydrogen refueling infrastructure, and various fuel cell system applications.
Additionally, from December 5 to 7, a test drive program for the hydrogen electric vehicle “The All-New NEXO” will be held. Visitors can experience hydrogen mobility firsthand by making a reservation on the official website or signing up on-site.
Kim Jaehong, Chairman of the WHE Organizing Committee, stated, “By integrating the conference and exhibition from this year, we are able to significantly expand and provide opportunities for technology and information exchange, as well as business development for companies.” He added, “We will continue to develop WHE as a global hydrogen economy platform so that Korea can become a central nation in the hydrogen economy.”
