Samsung SDI Announces 2026 Executive Appointments: "Key Talents at the Forefront for the Supercycle"
Three Promoted to Vice President, Five to Executive Director

Samsung SDI has conducted its regular executive appointments for 2026, strengthening its technology and management organization in preparation for the upcoming battery supercycle.

View original imageOn the 25th, Samsung SDI announced that a total of eight executives were promoted in this round of appointments, including three vice presidents and five executive directors. A Samsung SDI official stated, "Even amid an uncertain business environment, we have appointed key talents who can respond to the expansion of future demand and intensifying technological competition."
The executives promoted to vice president in this round are: Kim Kijun, Head of the Electrode Center in the Mid-to-Large Business Division; Lee Jonghun, Head of the Pouch Development Team in the Small Battery Business Division; and Jung Hyun, Head of the Management Diagnosis Team.
Vice President Kim Kijun is recognized for enhancing electrode production efficiency and developing new manufacturing processes, thereby elevating the technological capabilities of mid-to-large batteries. He is also credited with playing a crucial role in establishing a system to ensure consistent quality across all production sites. Vice President Lee Jonghun led development efforts to ensure major flagship products could be launched on time, thereby increasing the technological competitiveness of small pouch batteries. Vice President Jung Hyun improved overall operational efficiency and strengthened the company’s business structure by reviewing and enhancing management processes across the organization.
The five executives promoted to executive director are Kim Kyungbo, Kim Jaehyuk, Noh Geonbae, Baek Seungmin, and Choi Jaehong.
