Under the three themes of workplaces and daily life across the country, Gumi’s cultural and tourist attractions, and Samsung and Galaxy, a total of 3,089 entries were received from June 9 to August 31. The final winners included 93 works in the general category and 28 in the youth category, selected through public voting and a second round of expert judging.
This year, a special prize category focusing on Samsung and Galaxy was newly established, and the scale of awards in the youth category was expanded. As a result, the number of entries increased by 28% compared to the previous year, demonstrating nationwide interest.
The Grand Prize was awarded to "Overcoming the Heat," which captured the tension and energy of an industrial site as molten metal is poured into a mold (nationwide), and "Sunrise at Gangjeong Wetland," which beautifully depicted the harmony of sunset-lit mountains and silver grass (Gumi). The Galaxy Special Prize went to "Galaxy Captured with Galaxy (Milky Way)," and the Grand Prize in the youth category was awarded to "A Ray Smiling Brighter Than Anyone in the World."
Yoon Jaeho, Chairman of the North Gyeongsang (Gumi) Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated, "The works movingly captured the diligent workers in intense industrial settings and citizens finding happiness in everyday life. We will continue to support meaningful projects that unite the region and local businesses."
Gumi Mayor Kim Jangho commented, "It is significant that the contest created a venue for communication and mutual growth between companies and citizens by capturing stories from industrial sites, the local community, and everyday life through photography. We will continue to promote the region’s appeal and the value of local businesses."
