Around 25 representatives from industry, academia, and research institutes are participating, including Pusan National University, Busan-Gyeongnam Technopark, Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, Korea Research Institute of Ship and Ocean Engineering, Korea Testing & Research Institute, Korea Research Institute of Small Shipbuilding, and Korean Register.
During the meeting, various opinions were presented, such as "There is a need for a mid- to long-term roadmap focused on building an industrial ecosystem, rather than just on technology development," and "A comprehensive strategy should be established that goes beyond carbon capture technology to include utilization measures."
Based on the outcomes of this discussion, the Authority plans to develop detailed implementation strategies for building a port-based eco-friendly transport equipment industry ecosystem, and will also pursue projects that comprehensively review safety, environmental, and economic factors. Through this, the Authority aims to establish an industrial transformation model that connects demonstration-oriented projects to commercialization.
