View original imageAccording to the headquarters, the meeting was organized to improve accessibility for foreigners to the 119 emergency reporting system and to enhance the quality of interpretation services. A total of 18 people attended, including interpretation volunteers, officials from the Jeonbuk Women's Family Foundation, and fire department representatives.
The meeting included a report on the current status of the 119 Interpretation Volunteer Group, discussions on ways to improve responses to emergency calls from foreigners, and the collection of suggestions, all aimed at strengthening communication and cooperation.
The 119 Interpretation Volunteer Group has been operated with 93 members covering 16 languages through a work agreement with the Jeonbuk Women's Family Foundation signed in February. The main interpretation languages are Vietnamese, Chinese, English, Cambodian, Japanese, Mongolian, and Russian. Over the past three years, there have been a total of 443 emergency calls from foreigners, with interpretation services provided in 105 of those cases.
