Suwon City Operates 'Public Service On-Boarding Course' for New Officials
Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province operated the 'Suwon-style Public Service On-Boarding Course' for new public officials from October 13 to 17, 2025.
A total of 161 new public officials, who passed this year's Suwon City open competitive examination for local government officials, participated in this orientation course.
Until last year, Suwon City operated the course as a two-night, three-day program, but this year expanded and reorganized it into a four-night, five-day program to provide more systematic and in-depth training.
The Suwon-style Public Service Orientation Course is a hands-on 'Suwon-style education module' that goes beyond lecture-based training to comprehensively strengthen public service values, job competency, organizational culture, and communication skills.

The curriculum included: internalizing public service values, understanding Suwon's history and culture, participating in the Saebit Policy Idea Discussion & Presentation, team building to share Suwon City's core values and vision, and volunteering activities to reinforce the correct understanding of public service values.
Lee Jaejun, mayor of Suwon, encouraged the new officials, saying, "A deep understanding of the values and responsibilities of public service, as well as listening to and reflecting on the voices of citizens, is the starting point for Suwon City officials. I hope your first steps as new public officials will become a new light that brightens Suwon's future."
