CJ ENM and Warner Bros. Discovery Join Forces to Accelerate Global Expansion of K-Content
Tving Launches Brand Zone on HBO Max in Seventeen Asia-Pacific Regions
CJ ENM's OTT platform, Tving, is joining forces with HBO Max to expand into the global market.
On October 16, CJ ENM announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with global media group Warner Bros. Discovery to launch comprehensive collaboration aimed at spreading K-content worldwide.
The core of the partnership is the launch of a "Tving Brand Zone" within HBO Max in seventeen Asia-Pacific regions. The new zone will showcase the latest dramas and variety shows to local viewers in markets with high demand for K-content, such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. Selected content will be released in November, with an official launch scheduled for early next year.
The collaboration goes beyond platform cooperation to include joint content production. Titles co-invested and produced by the two companies will be released worldwide through HBO Max. This is significant as it involves collaboration from production to platform distribution.
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of its cultural business, CJ ENM has declared this year as the "first year of global acceleration" and is working to strengthen its global network across both content and platforms. Through this partnership, the company plans to accelerate the establishment of a sustainable K-content ecosystem.
