The National Strategic Technology Confirmation System, in accordance with Article 9 of the Special Act on Fostering National Strategic Technologies, is an official system that confirms whether technologies owned or under research and development by industry, academia, or research institutes qualify as "national strategic technologies."

Out of a total of 25 applications, after a review by technical experts from industry, academia, and research institutes, one technology in possession and management (advanced bio) and one in research and development (secondary battery) were ultimately confirmed as national strategic technologies.

In this review, Medical AI Co., Ltd. was recognized as a company possessing and managing the "AI-based heart disease diagnosis technology" in the advanced bio sector, while Enchem Co., Ltd. was recognized for developing "material technology that enhances the safety and improves the performance of secondary batteries" in the secondary battery sector. Both companies were acknowledged as holders of national strategic technologies.

Companies confirmed as holders of national strategic technologies receive practical benefits, such as additional points when being designated as companies for alternative military service and access to policy-based financial support.

Cho Sunhak, Director General of Science and Technology Policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, "We plan to vitalize the national strategic technology confirmation system to identify competitive companies and institutions, rapidly secure national strategic technologies, and support their commercialization."

Meanwhile, the announcement for the fourth round of national strategic technology confirmation applications for 2025 will be posted starting October 16 on the temporary website and social media channels of the Ministry of Science and ICT, as well as the KISTEP website. Applications will be accepted for about one month until November 14.
