Skonec Accelerates Entry into New Energy Business with Acquisition of Jeju BK
Skonec Entertainment (CEO Park Woncheol) announced on October 2 that it has finalized the acquisition of Jeju BK (co-CEOs Kim Siyoung and Choi Woojin) and will officially enter the new energy business sector.
Jeju BK is an energy company specializing in the wholesale of gaseous fuels and related products. As of last year, the company recorded approximately 59.5 billion won in sales and about 2.6 billion won in operating profit. It is recognized as a mid-sized energy company with a stable revenue base and a nationwide distribution network.
Through this acquisition, Skonec expects to achieve multiple outcomes, including securing stable cash flow, establishing a foothold for entering the global ESS container business, and laying the foundation for balanced growth between its gaming and energy sectors.
A Skonec representative stated, "The acquisition of Jeju BK is strategically significant for Skonec's business restructuring and securing future growth engines. Alongside innovation in our existing VR and XR divisions, we will accelerate our dual-track growth strategy in gaming and energy by generating stable profits in the energy sector."
