POSCO and the POSCO Labor Union took the lead in revitalizing the local economy by holding the "Gwangyang Love Gift Certificate Purchase Event" on the 2nd floor of the mayor's reception room at Gwangyang City Hall on September 23.
The event was attended by Jeong Inhwa, Mayor of Gwangyang, Shin Jaeho, Head of the POSCO Labor Union Gwangyang Branch, Paek Jeongil, Executive Representative of the Gwangyang Economic Revitalization Movement Headquarters, Park Jongil, Deputy Director of Gwangyang Steelworks Administration, and other related officials.

View original imageThe "Gwangyang Love Gift Certificate Purchase Event" was organized ahead of Chuseok, the major national holiday, with POSCO and its labor union jointly purchasing regional gift certificates to support local small businesses and contribute to the revitalization of the local economy.
During the wage and collective bargaining agreement approved on September 13, POSCO and the labor union decided to provide all employees with regional love gift certificates worth 500,000 won each. They plan to purchase approximately 7.7 billion won worth of gift certificates, including 3.3 billion won in Gwangyang Love Gift Certificates, 3.78 billion won in Pohang Love Gift Certificates, and 600 million won in Onnuri Gift Certificates for employees working in the metropolitan area.
This purchase of regional love gift certificates is expected to promote the circulation of funds within the region and provide practical support to local small business owners and self-employed individuals.
Mayor Jeong Inhwa stated, "I believe this event is an exemplary model of mutual cooperation, where the company, labor union, and local community unite and strive for regional economic development, going beyond simple economic support. I would like to thank POSCO and its labor union for organizing the Gwangyang Love Gift Certificate Purchase Event ahead of the Chuseok holiday."
Shin Jaeho, Head of the POSCO Labor Union Gwangyang Branch, said, "I believe this purchase of regional love gift certificates is an example of POSCO and its labor union jointly leading K-style labor-management culture and exerting a positive influence. POSCO and the labor union will continue to fulfill their social responsibilities and make ongoing efforts to walk alongside the local community."
