S-Oil Introduces 'AI Analysis System' at Gas Stations... "Boosting Profitability"
Decision Support for Navigating Price Volatility and Competition
Integrated Solution for Customized Marketing and Location Strategies
Positive Response After Three-Month Pilot... Expansion Planned
S-Oil has become the first company in Korea to introduce a gas station sales analysis system utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and big data. This data-driven solution is designed to enhance operational efficiency and support rational decision-making amid volatile oil prices and intense price competition.
On September 18, S-Oil announced the launch of its gas station sales analysis system, MAAS (Market Analysis Automation System). Unlike traditional gas station operations, which have relied on experience and intuition, MAAS is an integrated platform that analyzes real-time data to provide strategic recommendations.
This system comprehensively analyzes nearby gas station prices, customer inflow and outflow trends, and the competitive environment to suggest optimal consumer prices. It also segments and analyzes customer visit cycles, time periods, and fuel volumes, enabling the development of customized marketing strategies. The platform's regional and commercial district growth analysis features can also be used to assess new gas station locations.
The company reported that pilot operations, which began in June, confirmed positive effects such as increased sales at gas stations and the provision of objective solutions for price setting. One gas station operator commented, "It has been challenging due to rapidly changing oil prices and intensifying competition, but the system has been a great help in making strategic decisions."
