Gyeonggi Province to Begin 'Influenza and COVID-19' Vaccinations from the 22nd
Gyeonggi Province will conduct national vaccination programs for influenza and COVID-19 from September 22, 2025, to April 30, 2026.
Influenza vaccinations will be provided free of charge to children aged 6 months to 13 years, pregnant women, and seniors aged 65 and older. COVID-19 vaccinations will be offered free of charge to seniors aged 65 and older, immunocompromised individuals, and residents or inpatients of facilities vulnerable to infection.
The influenza vaccination program will begin on September 22 for children requiring two doses. Starting September 29, children requiring only one dose and pregnant women will be eligible, and from October 15, seniors aged 75 and older will be able to receive the vaccine, followed by other age groups in sequence.
The COVID-19 vaccination program will also begin on October 15, starting with seniors aged 75 and older, in line with the influenza vaccination schedule for seniors. Immunocompromised individuals and residents or inpatients of facilities vulnerable to infection will also be eligible for vaccination from October 15.

View original imageVaccinations are available at designated medical institutions and public health centers nationwide, regardless of place of residence (advance confirmation required before visiting). Nearby designated medical institutions can be found on the Vaccination Helper website (nip.kdca.go.kr).
When getting vaccinated, individuals must bring identification to verify eligibility. After vaccination, recipients should remain at the vaccination site for 20 to 30 minutes to monitor for any adverse reactions before leaving.
Gyeonggi Province explained that vaccination is an effective means of protecting the health of immunocompromised groups, and especially recommended that those eligible for national vaccination programs receive the vaccine.

Yoo Youngcheol, Director of the Health and Wellness Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Influenza and COVID-19 are major infectious diseases that increase the risk of hospitalization and death among high-risk groups during the winter. In particular, as the recent increase in COVID-19 cases continues, seniors aged 65 and older should receive both vaccines simultaneously to prepare for the spread of infectious diseases during the winter."
