Any adult aged 19 or older can register at a "pre-registered advance directive for life-sustaining treatment" institution designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and it can be changed or withdrawn at any time according to the individual's wishes.
Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to closely cooperate in supporting the dignified lives of provincial residents by expanding the number of registration institutions for advance directives, conducting joint promotions and campaigns, holding educational sessions and briefings, and pursuing various other activities to make the life-sustaining treatment decision system more accessible.
Additionally, the Chuncheon Mirae Together Foundation will participate as a key institution to support the stable establishment of the system.
The province, together with the National Bioethics Policy Institute and the Chuncheon Mirae Together Foundation (as a key registration institution), will hold joint on-site briefing sessions.
Starting at the provincial government office in October, relay briefing sessions will be held at the provincial council, city and county offices, and affiliated or funded institutions to promote the system and support on-site completion of advance directives for life-sustaining treatment. Through these efforts, residents who have been interested in the system will be able to avoid the inconvenience of visiting registration institutions themselves.
In addition, advance directives for life-sustaining treatment can be registered at public health centers, designated medical institutions, and senior welfare centers within the province, and the nearest registration institution can be found on the website of the National Agency for Management of Life-Sustaining Treatment.
