SMBC Listens to Industry-Academia SME Challenges On-Site... "Customized Support to Be Pursued"
"SMBC On the Move" On-Site Meeting Held
The Small and Medium Business Corporation announced on September 11 that it held an on-site meeting titled "SMBC On the Move" at Incheon Jeongseok Aviation Science High School, where it listened to the voices of companies participating in industry-academia cooperation.
This meeting was organized to hear the difficulties faced by outstanding companies involved in industry-academia workforce training amid rapidly changing international circumstances, such as U.S. tariff policies. Participants discussed ways to better match the talent companies need with school education, as well as policy directions to strengthen global competitiveness.
Outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises based in Incheon took part in the event. They expressed concerns about the difficulties in recruiting new technical staff in the manufacturing sector and the manpower shortage caused by the departure of skilled workers. Given that U.S. tariff policies are expected to impact exports, they also requested more concrete government measures and expanded support.
