View original imageThe Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (hereinafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on September 1 that the Barugesalgi Movement Gwangju Council had donated a special fund of 5 million won to support the recovery from the heavy rain damage in the Gwangju area.
The donation ceremony was held on the afternoon of August 29 at the Nanum Culture Hall on the second floor of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae. The event was attended by Koo Jae-gil, President of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae; Lee Seokwoo, President of the Barugesalgi Movement Gwangju Council; Yang Seung-gon, Senior Vice President; Kim Sookhee, President of the Women’s Committee; Kim Byungwook, President of the Youth Committee; Lee Jaedong, Secretary General; and other related officials. The donated funds will be used as emergency support for areas affected by the heavy rains.
Lee Seokwoo, President of the Barugesalgi Movement Gwangju Council, stated, "As an organization that practices a society of living together, we hope to provide even a small amount of help to the citizens of Gwangju in their time of difficulty."
