Gimhae City to Reduce Public Property Usage Fees for Heavy Rain Damage
Gimhae City in Gyeongnam Province has decided to reduce the usage fees for public property that was damaged by the heavy rainfall that fell from July 16 to 20.
The city announced on July 23 that it will accept applications until August 1, and will reduce the usage fees for public property that has become difficult to use due to flooding and other damages.
Applicants for the reduction must submit a certificate of fact that proves the damage from the heavy rain to the relevant department or the accounting division.
According to the Public Property and Goods Management Act, the reduction applies to land and buildings that are currently under a usage permit or lease contract. The contract period can be extended for the duration that the public property could not be used, or the usage or lease fees can be refunded for that period.
However, those who are occupying the property without permission or have not paid the usage or lease fees are excluded from eligibility.
Mayor Hong Taeyong stated, "I hope this measure will provide at least some help to citizens who suffered losses from the recent rainfall," and added, "We will continue to seek practical support measures to alleviate the hardships of our citizens."
