Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters Accepts University Scholarship Applications for Local Residents
If You Have Lived in the East Gyeongju Area for Over 3 Years
Scholarship Amount Ranges from 1,000,000 to 1,400,000 KRW
Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (headed by Jeong Wonho) will accept applications for the 'University Student Scholarship' for 15 days, from July 18 to August 1, in order to ease the tuition burden for residents living near the power plant.
Eligible applicants are residents themselves or their university student children (excluding students on leave of absence) who have continuously resided for at least three years as of the application deadline in one of the three towns or townships in East Gyeongju area (Gampo-eup, Munmudaewang-myeon, Yangnam-myeon). The scholarship amount ranges from 1,000,000 to 1,400,000 KRW.
To apply for the scholarship, applicants must prepare the required documents, including the application form, academic transcript, and a copy of their bankbook, and submit them either by mail, email, or in person at the reception desk on the first floor of the Wolseong Sports Center located in Naae-ri, Yangnam-myeon, Gyeongju. The in-person reception desk is closed on weekends and during lunch hours (12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.).

Over the past 10 years, Wolseong Nuclear Power Headquarters has provided approximately 3.5 billion KRW through its university student scholarship program and has implemented various scholarship initiatives, including graduation scholarships (for elementary, middle, and high school students), academic excellence scholarships (for middle and high school students), as well as educational promotion programs such as English village camps and overseas cultural exploration programs.
