Gyeonggi Agricultural Research and Extension Services Selects 10 "Healing Farms and Villages" Including Four Seasons Healing Farm in Suwon
The Gyeonggi-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services has recommended 10 healing farms and villages for the summer vacation season.
Healing agriculture refers to providing healing experiences by utilizing agricultural and rural resources, which can have effects such as stress reduction, emotional stability, and improvement of interpersonal relationships.
Since enacting the Ordinance on the Promotion and Support of Healing Agriculture in 2019, Gyeonggi-do has been fostering a total of 84 healing farms and villages across 20 cities and counties as of 2024.
The healing farms and villages recommended this summer by the provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services are: ▲Four Seasons Healing Farm (Suwon, outdoor garden experience and herb plant activities) ▲Farm & Tree (Yongin, harvesting tangerines and lemons, and planting flowers) ▲Healing Farm in the Yard (Goyang, doctor fish, horticultural experiences, and storytelling) ▲Yongam Healing Village (Namyangju, walking trails and healing foods) ▲Pyeongtaek Lorentz Rural Experience (Pyeongtaek, combined experiences of traditional and urban agriculture) ▲Maenggol Village (Yangju, both healing agriculture and rural experience programs) ▲Healing Farm Seoro (Icheon, barefoot walking, rice experiences, and vegetable harvesting) ▲Hilderushi Natural Healing (Pocheon, food, aroma, and meditation therapy) ▲Kkotdeul Nature Farm (Yangpyeong, ecological garden and natural soap making) ▲Haneulkkocha Healing Farm (Gapyeong, planting flower seedlings and making flower-based foods).
As the operating schedules and fees differ by farm, it is essential to inquire before visiting.
Lee Youngsoo, head of the Rural Resources Division at the provincial Agricultural Research and Extension Services, said, "The 10 healing villages and farms announced this time will be of great help in having a healing time together with nature."
