View original imageThe committee responsible for reviewing the ethics and disciplinary actions of elected public officials for the next year has been formed.
The Sejong City Council established the 4th Special Ethics Committee on July 8, electing Kim Chungsik (Jochiwon-eup, People Power Party) as Chair and Lee Hyunjung (Goun-dong, Democratic Party of Korea) as Vice Chair.
The Special Ethics Committee is a body established to review matters related to the discipline and ethics of local council members. It plays a role in maintaining the dignity of council members and promoting integrity in legislative activities.
Chair Kim Chungsik stated, "I feel a heavy sense of responsibility in realizing a clean and fair council that meets the expectations of our citizens," adding, "I will do my utmost to ensure that the Special Ethics Committee faithfully fulfills its duties so that the Sejong City Council can earn the trust of the public." He further emphasized, "Adhering to the code of conduct and ethical standards for council members is the starting point of trust in the council," and pledged, "Together with the committee members, we will enhance the council's morality through fair deliberation based on principles and standards."
Meanwhile, the 4th Special Ethics Committee of the Sejong City Council is composed of Chair Kim Chungsik, Vice Chair Lee Hyunjung, as well as Kim Dongbin, Kim Younghyun, Kim Jaehyung, Kim Hyunmi, Sang Byunheon, Yoon Jisung, Lee Sunyeol, and Choi Wonseok.
