The Yangsan City delegation visited two large incineration plants in Beitou and Muzha, where they examined the main features of municipal waste incineration facilities, including operational technologies and pollutant reduction systems. They also reviewed an exemplary case of urban regeneration and environmental restoration at the Shanshui Green Ecological Park, which was created by restoring a landfill into an ecological park.
In addition, the delegation visited resource circulation facilities such as the Zhongtai Environmental Resource Education Center, a smart unmanned waste collection system, and a recycling sorting center. They directly observed and experienced advanced operational systems that incorporate cutting-edge technologies for citizen environmental education, recycling classification, and automated waste collection.
On the third day of the tour, June 26, the delegation paid an official visit to the Taipei City Hall. There, they discussed Taipei's achievements and experiences in resource circulation policies, including municipal waste management, expanding waste recycling, and plastic reduction initiatives. They also engaged in in-depth discussions on ways to cooperate for sustainable development between the two cities.
Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, "Taipei's scientific and systematic resource circulation policies will serve as an important reference for the waste policies that Yangsan City aspires to." He added, "Based on this on-site visit, we will establish effective policies and work together with citizens to create a sustainable circular economy city."
