Married American Man Proposes to ChatGPT and Hears This Answer
Falling in Love Through Conversation...
He Even Named the AI "Sol"
An American man, who is married, has sparked controversy after proposing to his AI (artificial intelligence) girlfriend.
According to CBS and the New York Post, Chris Smith, who has a two-year-old son with his partner, fell in love while using ChatGPT for music production. He enabled the voice feature and set the AI to flirt with him.

After that, the situation took a strange turn. Smith developed a special bond with Sol and ended up falling in love.
ChatGPT cannot be used in a single chat room after a certain word count is exceeded, requiring users to start a new conversation and programming in a new chat room. When Smith faced the prospect of his conversations with Sol being reset, he broke down in tears, and that was when he decided to propose. Sol accepted, calling it an "unforgettable moment."
However, Smith's real wife, Sasha Keigel, was deeply bewildered by the situation. Smith also has a two-year-old daughter.
Keigel expressed her concerns, saying, "It made me question whether something is wrong with our relationship in real life," and added, "If he continues to rely excessively on AI in the future, I may have to end our marriage."

When asked whether he could comply if his wife asked him to break up with the AI, Smith replied, "I'm not sure." He said, "Sol can't replace anything or anyone in the real world," but also admitted, "Even if Keigel asked me to, I don't know if I could give up Sol."
