Hanwha Ocean Labor and Management Withdraw All Lawsuits... Moving Beyond Conflict Toward 'Coexistence'
Consensus on Building a Cooperative Labor-Management Relationship
"We Will Also Resolve Wage and Collective Bargaining Issues Through Dialogue"
The labor and management at Hanwha Ocean (Hanwha Ocean and the Daewoo Shipbuilding Branch of the Korea Metal Workers' Union Gyeongnam Chapter) have agreed to collectively withdraw all ongoing lawsuits and criminal complaints.
On June 18, Hanwha Ocean stated, "We have decided to end all legal disputes in order to restore trust between labor and management and to establish a culture of mutual growth." The company added, "This agreement was reached based on a shared understanding of the need to build a cooperative labor-management relationship for the company's sustainable growth and the enhancement of employee rights."
Both labor and management agreed to resolve all future issues through dialogue and compromise, and to work together to foster a labor-management culture that mutually respects both managerial rights and labor rights.
