Laying the Foundation for a Data Innovation Ecosystem Including MyData and AI
KOSCOM announced on May 29 that it was designated as a MyData "Intermediary Institution" by the Personal Information Protection Commission (hereinafter referred to as the Personal Information Commission) last month.
An Intermediary Institution is an organization designated under personal information protection laws that sits between data transmitters, who are required to transfer data at the request of the data subject, and MyData service providers. It provides the necessary functions for personal data intermediation and is responsible for related technologies and standardization.

On May 7, to promote the activation of MyData, KOSCOM signed a business agreement with the Personal Information Commission for "MyData Intermediation Services."
Going forward, KOSCOM plans to leverage its experience in financial sector intermediation and its proprietary cloud-based intermediary system to provide a safe and efficient personal information transfer system, starting with the telecommunications sector.
Additionally, to promote the activation of the MyData and AI industries, KOSCOM will strengthen education, consulting, and collaborative projects targeting MyData service startup companies and small and medium-sized enterprises seeking to enter related infrastructure businesses.
