Ju Jihoon’s Blitzway Acquires KLAP Entertainment, Expands into K-pop Business
On May 28, Blitzway Entertainment announced that it is expanding its business into K-pop artist management by acquiring KLAP Entertainment.
Blitzway plans to make KLAP a subsidiary, expanding its business scope from actor and drama content to include K-pop. This acquisition is part of the company's "content-centric strategy," which has been pursued since its name change. By making the music industry a new business pillar, Blitzway aims to accelerate its growth into a comprehensive entertainment company based on intellectual property (IP).
KLAP Entertainment is a music label that has led various project groups, including Kep1er, which was formed through Mnet's "Girls Planet 999," VANNER, the final winning team from JTBC's "Peak Time," and SISTAR19. The company is headed by Lee Sun, who previously served as head of the music division at CJ ENM and as CEO of WAKEONE.
Through this acquisition, Blitzway plans to focus on recruiting and nurturing K-pop artists, with the goal of developing "crossover artists" who can excel in both music and acting.
