Satrec Initiative CEO Lee Eul Kim Receives Science and Technology Award on 'Aerospace Day'
Satrec Initiative, a satellite company, announced on the 28th that CEO Lee Eul Kim received the 'Science and Technology Award' at the '1st Aerospace Day' ceremony hosted by the Space Agency on the 27th, in recognition of his contributions to the development of the national space industry.

View original imageCEO Kim was highly praised for his contributions to the advancement of Korea's space industry over the past 26 years, including leading private sector-driven development of small and medium-sized satellites, achieving independence in ultra-high-resolution Earth observation technology, and pioneering both domestic and overseas markets.
Satrec Initiative independently developed the SpaceEye-T, a 25cm-class ultra-high-resolution electro-optical satellite, securing world-class ultra-high-resolution observation technology among commercial satellites. The company also became the first in Korea to develop mass-produced ultra-small satellites with high efficiency and economic feasibility.
In his acceptance speech, CEO Kim stated, "Satrec Initiative holds a sense of responsibility as a leading company driving the ecosystem of Korea's space industry, going beyond being a simple satellite manufacturer," adding, "We will continue to do our best to contribute to the growth of Korea's space industry through technological innovation and public-private cooperation."

Satrec Initiative plans to commercialize the imagery data from SpaceEye-T, which was launched in March, starting in August. Based on this, the company aims to establish a service ecosystem for satellite data utilization and actively expand into the global data market.
