The Ulsan Fire Department will hold the 'Special Disaster Training Center Completion Ceremony' at 3 p.m. on the 10th at the Special Disaster Training Center in Bugo-dong, Nam-gu.
Approximately 300 guests, including Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, the City Council Chairperson, members of the National Assembly, and other key figures, are expected to attend the event.
The completion ceremony will proceed in the following order: progress report, commendations for meritorious individuals, commemorative speeches, training demonstrations, and facility tours.
The training center was constructed on a site at 159 Sapyeong-ro, Nam-gu, with a total project cost of 14.3 billion KRW. Construction began in 2022, and the center was completed with a site area of 27,850 square meters, a total floor area of 2,168 square meters, and four buildings.
The training center serves as an institution to train specialized personnel to respond to special disaster incidents within the national industrial complex, focusing on strengthening the disaster response capabilities of firefighters and in-house fire brigade members from companies.
In particular, the center is equipped with a total of seven special disaster response training facilities, including a petrochemical facility (plant) training ground, an outdoor tank training ground, and a mobile tank training ground. Through training that simulates real fire situations, firefighters are better prepared to respond effectively at disaster sites.
It is expected that this will enable rapid initial response in the event of fires or special disasters, greatly contributing to the protection of citizens' lives and property.
