Geumcheon-gu, 7 Gifts to Empower Young Startup Companies?
Geumcheon-gu Supports Youth Start-ups
Prototype Commercialization, Market Development, and More
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) announced that it is recruiting companies to participate in seven support projects to help the growth of youth start-up companies at the Geumcheon Youth Dream Center.
The Geumcheon Youth Dream Center (Beoman-ro 15-gil 22-5) was established by Geumcheon-gu and is operated by the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Chung-Ang University (Director Han Jung-geun) to build a youth start-up ecosystem and create jobs. It is a youth start-up support hub facility equipped with 16 independent resident facilities and shared facilities such as a lounge, community space, book cafe, and meeting rooms.
The seven support projects consist of various programs to revitalize youth start-ups, including △ prototype advancement and commercialization △ problem-solving consulting △ promotion cost support △ market development support such as exhibitions and fairs △ startup partnering mentoring with role model companies △ external education support △ special lectures for Geumcheon residents.
The total support amount for the seven projects is 60 million KRW, and the support amount varies according to the evaluation score for each project. For prototype commercialization, support ranges from 1.2 million KRW to 4.5 million KRW, and for market development, from 900,000 KRW to 2 million KRW. For the prototype advancement and commercialization project, promotion cost, and market development support projects, at least 10% of the support amount must be self-funded.
Eligible industries include three fields: 'technology'-based industries, 'specialized' industries such as holograms, robots, and energy, and 'general' industries. In particular, companies in the technology and specialized start-up sectors and resident companies at the Geumcheon Youth Dream Center will be given additional points and prioritized for selection.
Applicants must be youth start-up company representatives aged 39 or younger, located in Geumcheon-gu or residing at the Geumcheon Youth Dream Center, registered as of March 28, and have been in business for seven years or less.
Applications can be submitted by email with documents by 6 p.m. on April 18. Detailed information and submission documents for each project can be found on the websites of Geumcheon-gu Office and Chung-Ang University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation.
