LG Exaone 3.5, Stanford 'AI Index Report' Korea's Only AI Model
List of Notable AI Models from Last Year
The only domestic artificial intelligence (AI) model included in the 'AI Index Report 2025' released on the 7th (local time) by the Human-Centered AI Institute (HAI) at Stanford University in the United States was identified as LG AI Research's Exaone 3.5.
According to the AI industry and authorities on the 8th, LG AI Research's Exaone 3.5 (32B) was the only Korean model to be listed in the notable AI models of last year selected by Stanford University's Human-Centered AI Institute.
By country, the United States had the most with 40 models, followed by China with 15, and France with 3. Korea, along with Canada, Israel, and Saudi Arabia, each had one model selected.
LG AI Research released Exaone 3.5 in December last year, and in February this year, unveiled the country's first inference AI model, 'Exaone Deep,' at NVIDIA's annual developer conference. However, since Exaone Deep was released this year, it was not included in this report, which focuses on models from last year.
