Eventually, in the early morning of the 26th, it crossed into Yangsan City, raising concerns about potential damage to Daewoonsan Natural Recreation Forest and Healing Experience Center.
As signs of the wildfire spreading appeared, Yangsan City responded swiftly by strengthening real-time monitoring and activating the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, with all employees entering an emergency work system. About 300 personnel, including firefighting teams and public officials, were mobilized to focus all efforts on containing the spread.
Thanks to these efforts, the main fire was successfully extinguished on the night of the 26th, curbing the spread, and the remaining embers were fully cleared by the 27th.
In response, Yangsan City commended the fire authorities and all city hall employees for their significant role in minimizing the wildfire damage, which could have otherwise led to a major disaster.
On the afternoon of the 3rd, Mayor Na Dongyeon visited Yangsan Fire Station to express his gratitude for their wildfire response and prevention activities.
Additionally, Yangsan City decided to consider special leave and other measures to boost morale and acknowledge the hard work of employees who have been tirelessly responding to the recent series of wildfires in Wondong, Sangbuk, and Daewoonsan in Ulju-gun, as well as ongoing emergency duties, monitoring activities, and spring event operations.
In particular, although emergency funds and disaster relief funds were used to promptly provide supplies, equipment, and meals during the recent wildfire, there were some shortcomings. The city promised to improve working conditions and expand equipment for employees working at wildfire sites.
