Song Hoseong, Kia President: "No Plan for Price Increase in US... Considering HEV Production at HMGMA"

Song Hoseong, President of Kia, said on the 3rd regarding the Trump administration's tariff policy in the United States, "Kia is the brand that can respond most flexibly and quickly," and "(There is) currently no plan to raise prices in the U.S."
On the same day, President Song made these remarks during a meeting with domestic reporters at the '2025 Seoul Mobility Show' held at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. Regarding the 25% reciprocal tariffs on Korea and the 25% tariffs on finished vehicles announced by the Trump administration, he said, "Since this is an issue between countries, it is our task to carefully examine how we should respond."
About the Hyundai Motor Group Meta Plant America (HMGMA) in Georgia, USA, which was completed last month and has started full-scale operations, he said, "40% of the cars produced at HMGMA will be Kia vehicles," adding, "We are currently preparing which models to produce."
He continued, "Production is planned to start in the middle of next year, and the first model under consideration is a hybrid."
