and Funeral Expenses Up to 15 Million KRW
Funeral expenses and consolation payments for the bereaved families of the wildfire victims in Gyeongbuk will be provided.
According to Gyeongsangbuk-do on the 30th, consolation payments of 20 million KRW and funeral expenses up to 15 million KRW will be provided to the families of those who died in the wildfire. This is due to the declaration of a special disaster area.
Insurance payments for the deceased and injured are also being considered under the mandatory safety insurance.
This wildfire is classified as a social disaster under Article 3, Paragraph 1 of the Framework Act on the Management of Disasters and Safety. Some cities and counties have insurance policies that cover natural disasters rather than social disasters, so it has been identified that the applicability and coverage rate of insurance need to be specifically confirmed.
Excluding the helicopter pilot Captain Park Hyun-woo, who died in the line of duty during the Gyeongbuk wildfire that occurred on the 22nd, 25 residents died in five cities and counties: Uiseong, Andong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok.
