Gwangju City Council Donates 5 Million Won for Wildfire Relief Fund

This fundraising effort saw voluntary participation from all 23 council members, including the chairperson group, as well as senior officials from the secretariat. The donation will be used for emergency relief activities and the provision of daily necessities for victims, as well as restoration efforts at sites affected by large-scale wildfires that have recently spread nationwide, including the Yeongnam region.
Chairperson Shin Sujeong said, "I would like to express my deepest condolences to the residents of the affected areas who have suffered great loss of life and property due to this large-scale wildfire," and added, "We hope that through swift response and rapid recovery support, the victims will not lose hope and will be able to return to their daily lives."
Meanwhile, starting from the 28th, Gwangju City Council has been providing its large bus vehicles to support the rapid transportation of firefighters responding to large-scale wildfires across the country.
