Governor Park Wansu of Gyeongnam Mourns Sancheong Wildfire Victims ... "Those Who Fulfilled Their Duties to the End"
Governor Park Wansu of Gyeongnam Province visited the joint memorial altar for the victims of the Sancheong wildfire, set up at the Changnyeong County Gymnasium on the 24th, to offer condolences to the bereaved families and pay tribute to the deceased.
Governor Park wrote in the condolence book, "It is truly heartbreaking. My deepest condolences to the deceased. I will do my best to ensure their sacrifice is not in vain."
To the bereaved families, he said, "These individuals fulfilled their responsibilities on the scene until the very end," and added, "Gyeongnam Province will continue to provide the necessary support."

View original imageThe joint memorial altar was established to honor three wildfire suppression crew members from Changnyeong County and one public official who died after being trapped by a sudden backdraft while battling a large wildfire in Sicheon-myeon, Sancheong County, on the 22nd, following the outbreak of the fire on the 21st.
The altar will be open for four days from today until the 27th, and visitors can pay their respects from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The fallen are wildfire suppression crew members born in 1961, Lee, 1962, Hwang, 1965, Gong, and a public official born in 1992, Kang, who was leading them.
