Currently, it operates a total of five stores in Gyeonggi-do and Seoul, including the Minrak main store and Uijeongbu Market store, and since 2023, it has expanded its business to Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
On this day, Mayor Kim Dong-geun donated personally selected items, reflecting on the meaning of donation culture. He also communicated with citizens on the value of reusing goods and contemplated sustainable consumption.
CEO Kim Kyung-ho said, “The store not only sells good quality items at affordable prices but also serves as a community gathering place for local regulars,” adding, “More and more citizens are developing affection for a space operated with the sales proceeds from the items they have donated.”
He also added, “Our goal is to create a company where all 35 currently active people with developmental disabilities can work happily until retirement.”
Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “Through this visit, I confirmed that citizens’ actions of donating ‘items that are in good condition but not needed by me’ can lead to a virtuous cycle that creates social value,” and added, “We will continue to explore various ways to build a sustainable Uijeongbu that encompasses both the environment and welfare.”
