The Democratic Party of Korea announced that it will push for the impeachment of Choi Sang-mok, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, prompting former Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong to sharply criticize, saying, "Stop threatening with impeachment warning shots and do it if you can."
On the 20th, former Minister Won wrote on Facebook, "Those who do not fear the people will surely face the judgment of the people."
Former Minister Won pointed out that the 'serial impeachment' in South Korea is the result of collusion between the Constitutional Court and the Democratic Party. He added, "The Constitutional Court should have dismissed the baseless impeachment, but it effectively condoned it by rejecting it."
He continued, "The fact that the quorum for impeaching Acting Prime Minister Han Duck-soo has not yet been settled has led to the current situation," and sharply criticized, "The Democratic Party's serial impeachment, which knows nothing but impeachment, aims to collapse South Korea."
Former Minister Won also held the Constitutional Court responsible for not controlling this, criticizing, "The communist-style threatening politics of purging those who cannot be co-opted is an enemy of the South Korean system."

Meanwhile, Park Chan-dae, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, told reporters after a meeting of floor leaders of ruling and opposition parties chaired by National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik on the same day, "We will no longer tolerate Minister Choi's constitutional violations," and "We will initiate impeachment proceedings." However, he added, "The specific procedures and timing (for pushing impeachment) will be discussed further."
