This special exhibition sheds light on the lives and works of Koryoin poets and writers who experienced the pain of exile, oppression, and forced migration. It particularly focuses on the literary renaissance of Koryoin literature that began after the Thaw in 1956, highlighting the activities of the Koryoin branch of the Soviet Writers' Union established at the time, 15 volumes of Hangeul literary monographs published until 1990, and examples of stage adaptations of plays. In addition, various content such as materials related to Koryoin Hangeul literature, the lives of writers, and previously unpublished manuscripts are also presented.
The centerpiece of the exhibition is poet Kim Jun (1900?1979). Through works such as "I Am a Koryoin," "Ji Hongryeon," and "Forty-Eight People," Kim Jun expressed the experiences of forced migration, life in unfamiliar lands, and national identity toward the homeland through literature.
Kim Byunghak, director of the Koryoin Cultural Center, said, "The works of Koryoin literary figures, including Kim Jun, are records that testify to the tragedies of their time," adding, "I hope this exhibition will serve as an opportunity to understand and empathize with Koryoin history."
