To this end, BPA will provide basic data related to port operation and safety, and the Meteorological Administration plans to develop a customized weather convergence service for Busan Port based on this data to support the advancement of safety technology.
In particular, BPA, with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT, developed the ‘Container Alignment Monitoring System’ that analyzes the container stacking status in real time. By linking real-time weather information, an algorithm will be developed to prevent container overturn accidents based on predictive information of hazardous situations such as strong winds.
Lee Eun-jung, Director of the Busan Regional Meteorological Administration, said, “Through future cooperation with BPA, we will develop various weather information convergence services to enhance the productivity and punctuality of Busan Port and strive to improve the reliability of the port.”
