Shinhan Investment Corp. Invests 13.6 Billion KRW in AI Cloud Company Lambda
Shinhan Investment Corp. announced on the 4th that it invested $9.3 million (approximately 13.563 billion KRW) through its New Technology Investment Association in the Series D funding round conducted by the U.S.-based AI cloud company Lambda.
Lambda, the second largest independent AI cloud provider in the U.S., is one of the companies receiving the most NVIDIA graphics processing units (GPUs) worldwide. Based on various NVIDIA GPU models, it provides AI cloud services and supports developers in building AI models and conducting research and development more rapidly. Through its independently developed infrastructure and software, it offers customers high-quality AI training and inference solutions.
In this Series D round, Lambda raised a total of $480 million. The round was led by Andra Capital and SGW. NVIDIA, Supermicro, Pegatron, Wistron, and Shinhan Investment Corp. participated as investors. Lambda plans to use the investment to deploy additional latest GPUs and strengthen its AI cloud services.

As the managing general partner, Shinhan Investment Corp. has been continuously expanding investments in high-growth future industries, including investing in Australian water electrolysis company Highsata and U.S. smart factory company Bright Machines for data center servers, through cooperation with domestic large corporations last year. A Shinhan Investment Corp. official stated, "We are expanding investments in high-growth future industries such as data centers, AI value chains, and smart factories," adding, "We plan to continue discovering various investment opportunities and making investments in advanced technology sectors."
