Jangseong County Declares Itself an Exciting Tourist City
Goal to Attract 10 Million Tourists
A Variety of Events Announced
Jangseong County in Jeollanam-do has officially begun its efforts to achieve the goal of attracting 10 million tourists.
According to the county on the 21st, a proclamation ceremony for '2025 Visit Jangseong Year' was held at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju on the 20th. The event included the appointment of a promotional ambassador, a business agreement with the Korea Travel Writers Association, the announcement of the official slogan, and a performance wishing for the success of the initiative.
In particular, popular YouTuber Gamst, who is originally from Jangseong, drew attention by being appointed as a promotional ambassador. With 2.81 million subscribers, he plans to actively promote Jangseong's various attractions online.
The official slogan announced on the day is 'Jangseong to Return to Again, 2025 Year of Excitement,' which was selected through a public contest. The slogan reflects the intention to offer visitors to Jangseong a special experience and memories that will make them want to return.
Following the successful hosting of the Jeonnam Sports Festival and the Jeonnam Para Sports Festival this year, the county also plans to hold a 'stamp collecting event,' where gifts will be given to travelers who visit local restaurants and major tourist destinations. Through this, the county aims to vitalize stay-type tourism and invigorate the local economy.
Details of the events and programs prepared for the Visit Jangseong Year will be available on the official website, which will be launched next month.
Kim Hanjong, the county governor, stated, "Jangseong is an attractive tourist destination full of beautiful nature, culture, and romance," adding, "We will do our best so that many people can visit Jangseong and create precious memories."
