Iksan City and Office of Education Join Hands to Create a Forest Experience Center for Children
A Total Project Cost of 3.2 Billion KRW to Be Invested by August
Jeonbuk Iksan City and the Iksan Office of Education have joined hands to create the Shinheung Park Forest Experience Center for Children.
The city announced on the 20th that it has signed a business agreement to promote the 'Shinheung Park Forest Experience Center for Children Project.' Mayor Jung Heon-yul of Iksan and Superintendent Jung Seong-hwan of the Iksan Office of Education agreed to actively cooperate in the creation and operation of the forest experience center, including budget support.

View original imageThe city will establish the forest experience center for children on a 1.1-hectare site within Shinheung Park by August, with a total project cost of 3.2 billion KRW, including the budget supported by the Iksan Office of Education.
The forest experience center for children will be created as a space where kids can nurture their creativity and sensitivity in nature, and various forest experience programs will be operated to help their holistic growth.
Additionally, the city plans to plant various colorful herbaceous and woody plants around the waterfront area of Shinheung Park to provide citizens with beautiful scenery and a relaxing space.
Mayor Jung Heon-yul said, "The Shinheung Park Forest Experience Center for Children is expected to become a special place where kids can play and grow in nature," and added, "We will do our best to promote the project in cooperation with the Iksan Office of Education, aiming to create the nation's top-level forest experience center for children and a leading forest experience and play space."
