Enjoy Herbal Medicine with Confidence... National Institute for Korean Medicine Development Strengthens Quality and Safety Management of Decoction Clinic Preparations
Applications Accepted Nationwide Until February 21
The National Institute for Korean Medicine Development is recruiting institutions across the country to participate in quality monitoring of herbal medicine preparations in decoction clinics.
This recruitment is part of the "Herbal Medicine Preparation Safety Management" project, which aims to assess the quality of herbal medicines prepared in decoction clinics and strengthen the hygiene and safety management system.
This monitoring initiative is being implemented to ensure the supply of herbal medicines that the public can trust. There are a total of six test items: pesticide residues, heavy metals, mycotoxins, microorganisms, pH, and benzo(a)pyrene.
The tests will be conducted at the Quality Certification Center of the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development. Selected decoction clinics will receive quality monitoring services completely free of charge.
Decoction clinics wishing to participate should refer to the notice on the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development website and submit their application form via email or fax by February 21.
After reviewing the applications, the institute will determine priorities and finalize the participating clinics based on the number and schedule of sample collections. The monitoring results will be provided in a report, which clinics can use as hygiene and safety management data.
If contaminants exceeding the safety management standards are detected, additional monitoring and quality control consulting will be provided. Upon completion of the project, a certificate of participation will be issued.
