50 Days Since Dawn Delivery Area Expansion... SSG.com Sales Quadruple Compared to First Week
Sales in New Regions Including Chungcheong Jump 293%
Living Goods Up 400%, Daily Necessities Rise 220%
SSG.com (Sseuk.com) announced on the 22nd that sales from dawn delivery in new regions, including the Chungcheong area, increased by 293% from the first week of regional expansion, last month’s May 5-11 period, to this month’s 9-15 period.
With the new regions showing growth within 50 days, overall dawn delivery sales also rose by about 25%. Last month, Sseuk.com expanded its dawn delivery areas based on the logistics infrastructure and operational capabilities owned by CJ Logistics. The new regions include Daejeon, Sejong, Asan, Cheongju, and Cheonan in the Chungcheong area, as well as Gwangju, Dongtan, Hwaseong, Hanam, Anseong, Osan, Icheon, and Pyeongtaek in the southern Gyeonggi area.
According to Sseuk.com, the food category, which accounts for the largest share of sales, grew by 310% during this period. Among fresh foods, fruits such as tangerines and Shine Muscat grapes were popular, while processed foods like milk and instant rice were also top sellers. Marinated meat and meal kits from popular restaurants also sold well.
The living goods category showed the highest sales growth rate among core categories, increasing by 400%. Users purchased a variety of products including pillows, cleaning supplies, and towels. Sales of daily necessities also rose by 220%, with high sales recorded for toilet paper, shampoo, and body wash.
By more than doubling the assortment of dawn delivery products in the new regions compared to the first week, the variety of items ordered by customers also diversified to include beauty products, digital electronics, sports and leisure goods, and fashion. Sales of basic cosmetics, small humidifiers, and pet mats and food were high.
SSG.com plans to continue expanding dawn delivery areas and improving delivery quality based on logistics collaboration with CJ Logistics. Additionally, following the logistics system reorganization, the operation direction of the shopping-specialized membership ‘Sseuk Delivery Club’ will be reviewed with a focus on enhancing customer satisfaction and is scheduled to be unveiled in the second half of the year.
