Yongin City Provides 100,000 KRW 'Seol Holiday Support Fund' to 2,000 Low-Income Households

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 21st that it will provide a total of 200 million KRW in "Seollal Holiday Support Funds," giving 100,000 KRW per household to 2,000 low-income families in the area.
The city explained that this support was decided to practice sharing that helps stabilize the lives of low-income families ahead of the holiday season and to create a warm holiday atmosphere. The funds were prepared using donations designated to Yongin City for neighborly aid through the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest.
The support targets low-income families in welfare blind spots with an income at or below 120% of the median income. To this end, the city received recommendations for recipients from each eup, myeon, and dong. The support funds will be collectively transferred to the recipients' accounts at 100,000 KRW per household through the Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest by the 22nd.

A city official stated, "We decided to provide Seollal holiday funds to ease the burden on low-income vulnerable households facing difficulties during the Seollal holiday," adding, "We hope that neighbors in need will feel warm affection and spend the holiday comfortably."
