Dongwon Home Food Geumcheon Meat, Sales Increased Fivefold in 10 Years
Geumcheon Meat, a livestock wholesale platform operated by Dongwon Home Food, a food material affiliate of Dongwon Group, announced on the 21st that it achieved sales of 500 billion KRW last year.
Since acquiring Geumcheon Meat in 2015, Dongwon Home Food has grown its sales and membership (including butcher shops and restaurants nationwide) by approximately 5 times and 3.5 times, respectively. It has also gained popularity in the online wholesale meat market under the nickname "Number One Protein Provider."
Dongwon Home Food cited the following as the reasons for its sales growth: ▲improved consumer trust through high-quality standards ▲win-win cooperation with livestock farms ▲diverse portfolio.
A representative from Dongwon Home Food explained, "Because Dongwon Home Food oversees the entire process from purchasing raw meat to processing and delivery, consumer trust in the quality of Geumcheon Meat's livestock products is very high," adding, "It is also a strength that we handle almost all types of meat, including domestic Korean beef (Hanwoo) and native cattle (Yukwoo), dairy cows, Korean pork (Handon), imported beef and pork, poultry, and lamb, resulting in a diverse product portfolio."
Based on its operational capabilities with Geumcheon Meat, Dongwon Home Food is also strengthening B2C (business-to-consumer) communication. Livestock products processed by Dongwon Home Food are sold through major domestic e-commerce platforms such as Market Kurly, Coupang, SSG, and Kakao Gift, as well as offline channels including E-Mart, Lotte Mart, and GS The Fresh.
Transactions in the livestock foodservice ingredient market are also on the rise. The scale of Dongwon Home Food's livestock division business in this sector reaches approximately 1,500 tons annually.
