The signing ceremony, held in the Faculty Conference Room on the 3rd floor of the main building at Honam University, was attended by President Park Sangcheol, Dean of Student Affairs Lee Dongwoo, Dean of Administration Ko Youngil, Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation Jeong Jaepyeong, Director of Sarang Nanum Center Lee Muhyeong, Chairman Lee Hancheol, President of Dodum Volunteer Association Kim Younguk, Director Lee Kyungju, and General Manager Yoo Youngjae.
With this agreement, the two organizations have decided to strengthen cooperation in the following areas: support and volunteer activities for marginalized and vulnerable groups in the local community (including students); vocational rehabilitation training and promotion to support employment of students with disabilities; job creation for people with severe disabilities through the purchase of products made by them; and other matters concerning support for vulnerable groups.
Chairman Lee Hancheol stated, "I hope that through this agreement with Honam University, support projects for vulnerable groups will become even more active," and added, "I also expect it will greatly help improve awareness of people with disabilities in the local community."
President Park Sangcheol said, "With this agreement, we will encourage faculty, staff, and students to actively participate so that our university's volunteer activities for the local community can be further diversified," and added, "We will do our best to fulfill the university's role in reducing social prejudice against people with severe disabilities."
