Acting Commissioner General of Police: "I Do Not Agree with Kwon Seong-dong's Criticism of Police Excessive Force"
Acting Commissioner Lee Ho-young of the National Police Agency stated on the 20th that the claim by Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, criticizing the police for excessive force is "not true."
Acting Commissioner Lee made this remark during the plenary session of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee in response to a question from Yang Bu-nam, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "I do not agree."
Regarding the reduction of police forces at the Western District Court despite warnings of riots by protesters, Acting Commissioner Lee said, "At the time, sufficient forces were deployed, but as bricks were thrown, it seemed insufficient," and added, "We will manage personnel deployment better in the future."
