'Yoon Arrest Prevention' Former Security Chief Park Jong-jun Released After 14 Hours of Police Investigation
Former Presidential Security Chief Park Jong-jun, who is accused of obstructing the execution of an arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk-yeol, appeared at the police station for the second time on the 11th, underwent about 14 hours of investigation, and then returned home.
At around 11:25 p.m. that day, Park met with reporters at the Police Agency's Major Crimes Investigation Division and responded to the question, "With what mindset are you approaching the investigation?" by saying, "I am cooperating with the investigative authorities as sincerely as possible. I have explained everything in detail." He did not answer any questions such as "Do you admit to obstructing the execution of the arrest warrant?" or "Why did you express your resignation?"
Park had also appeared the previous day at around 10 a.m. and was investigated for 13 hours. During the investigation, his resignation as Security Chief was accepted, making him a former official.
The Special Investigation Unit of the National Police Agency reportedly questioned him about what instructions he gave to the Security Office, why he refused to accept the arrest warrant, and whether he directly ordered the mobilization of regular soldiers.
